How do I set up automatic rent reminders?

Setting up automatic rent reminders is easy! After logging into your dashboard, go to "Properties" and select the property you want to set reminders for. Click on "Reminder Settings" and choose your preferred reminder frequency (e.g., 7 days before due date, 3 days before, day of). You can customize the message that tenants receive and choose between SMS, email, or both.

What payment methods can tenants use?

RentRemind supports multiple payment methods to give tenants flexibility. These include bank transfers (ACH), credit/debit cards, and digital wallet options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. As a landlord, you can choose which payment methods to accept for your properties, and tenants can save their preferred payment method for recurring payments.

How does the arrears collection feature work?

Our arrears collection feature takes the stress out of chasing late payments. When rent becomes overdue, RentRemind automatically sends professionally worded reminders to tenants according to your specified escalation timeline. If payment remains outstanding after your set threshold (e.g., 14 days), you can enable our professional collection service with one click, and our team will handle communication with the tenant while keeping you informed of progress.

Can I integrate RentRemind with my accounting software?

Yes! RentRemind integrates seamlessly with popular accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, and FreshBooks. This allows automatic syncing of payment data, eliminating double entry and ensuring your financial records are always up to date. To set up integration, go to "Settings" > "Integrations" in your dashboard and follow the guided process for your specific accounting software.

What security measures does RentRemind use to protect financial data?

We take security extremely seriously. RentRemind uses bank-level encryption (256-bit SSL) for all data transmission, and we comply with PCI DSS Level 1 standards for payment processing. We never store complete credit card information on our servers. Additionally, we use multi-factor authentication, regular security audits, and continuous monitoring to ensure your data remains secure. All tenant payment information is tokenized and processed through our secure payment partners.
